A 36-year-old Swiss amateur parachutist made a successful 650-metre (2,130-foot) drop Saturday using a replica of a parachute designed more than 500 years ago by Leonardo da Vinci. "I came down... smack in the middle of the tarmac at Payerne military airport," said Olivier Vietti-Teppa. "A perfect jump."
Vietti-Teppa is the first person to have made it safely to the ground with the Leonardo model.
In 2000, Britain's Adrian Nicholas tried it but had to pull the ripcord on a modern backup parachute to complete his descent safely.
Vietti-Teppa jumped from a hovering helicopter and the Leonardo parachute opened at 600 metres, he reported.
The parachute he used was made using modern fabric along lines designed by the Renaissance genius. The specifications were found in a text dating from 1485.
The parachute consists of four equilateral triangles, seven metres on each side, made of parachute fabric, Vietti-Teppa explained.
The base of the pyramid is a square of mosquito net, which enables the parachute to open. A wooden frame originally conceived by da Vinci was not used on the model in action on Saturday.
One drawback: it is impossible to manoeuvre or steer the Leonardo parachute. "You come down at the whim of the wind," said Vietti-Teppa, who carried out advance tests using a scale dummy model launched from a remote-controlled model helicopter.
This news is taken from Yahoo news. Upon reading this news, i felt like jumping too but if I jump it would be consider as a commit suicide...so better no jump... Regarding today paper I think that he is a little difficult but just only hoping for the best...

Nothing just wishes everyone...I had nothing much to say as wanted to revise for exam...Yesterday went to region library met Yiyong,Barry, Daniel...We keep running away from Jiayu...and the gals...Then we went to the basement of the library right at the stair case there we revised...Then that "dirty" minded Daniel says that we can see gals up skirt...ZzzI am not a pervert hor...Then the gals found us then make alot of noise then the librarian came and we said bb to our basement...then we went separate ways Barry and my frenx from Huayi wif me...Then at 4.22 pm went home then played badminton...-End-Good luck for your exam!!!

Um wat huh?"Then I took out the paper n said" Co-rricular activities Branch... At 10Evans road"Then the Uncle said" is it near the Botanic Garden?"Then I thought, " How can I noe? This is my 1st time...Zzz"Then Brandon Mum said" Umm near the Bukit timah ..."Then the Uncle finally noes...Zzz"Then about 15-20 mins later...(Wah so many "thens" I wrote...) Finally arrived...Then already started to Rain...Sian...Then gate opened...Went into the Hall...Black~Then got light...Then wait...Then start...Thensaid others games postponed...Only badminton n floor ball n cheerleading...Then 1/3, 1/6, 1/8 cheer...Then 1st is 1/6...But can't see class 1/3 cheer as the teacher from 1/6 blocked the way wif her"Sexy" butt...Then Teacher's race...1st...Sci...But the "V-lau" 1st said is Pe department...Then he said he joked wif us...But not likely lei...Then go home...Take bus to JEC...Damm hell...20+ stops...Then in bus saw Yehlin...Mai...n more...They stop at near the bukit wat? Then Miss Wong said that those who went up needs alot of courage ... I noe I noe, She must be saying about me...Trembling hands... Very Embarresed... Dead meat... The Shi han I did not write down the starting part the " ni hao ma?" n the " wo jiu xie dao zhe li, xia chi zai tan" that part... I Really dead meat... I forgotten cos when i started to write, The teacher already started to collect the papers, then rush until forgotten...
